Welcome to Comerford's Crumbs where everything is "Simply Crumbcious!" I'm Missy Comerford and the baker, decorator and hot mess behind the sweet creations. Baking has been something that has always sparked my creativity. I decided there was no other option than to attend culinary school after high school. 18 months later, I graduated with a degree in baking and pastry from Kendall College in Chicago. I landed my first job out of college in a hotel in downtown Chicago. It was a fun, fast-paced environment, and I, eventually, became the pastry supervisor after other small gigs broadening my pastry background. After having children I decided I would stay home. That's when Comerford's Crumbs really came along. It became an outlet for myself to unleash all the creativity, have fun beyond the many park playdates and continue my passion for creating those special desserts for whatever the occasion may be!
What lies ahead for Comerford's Crumbs, who knows? Currently I am baking out of my home kitchen and enjoy the flexibility while I stay home with my two children, Jackson (8) and Maisie (4 (and a half!)). Maybe my handy husband, John, will build a "She Shed" one day so the cookies aren't taking over where dinner should be eaten. Who needs a dinner table anyways? I won't stop baking but do take breaks to enjoy my children during their time off of school. Please don't hesitate to reach out and inspire the creativity to bake something custom for you!
....And when I'm not baking I'm blogging. Cheryl Brookhouzen, Pastry Chef, friend, mentor, all things Asheville, flavor expert, my Lucy to my Ethel, started a blog called, "The Giddy Chick." She shares recipes and tips where I have joined up with her to add to all the giddiness! Click on the tab to go straight to "The Giddy Chick," you don't want to miss out what we have going on!
